All my life experiences have been stepping stones to where I am today as a Broker for The Buyer’s Agent here in Asheville. In addition to being a Broker, I am a managing partner/owner of Oddfellows Antiques in the Biltmore area. We import hand-picked European Antiques to our 16,000 SF warehouse including period furniture, stained glass windows and unique home accessories. My prior professions include a high school English teacher and wrestling coach, a restaurant owner in Atlanta, GA and a senior consultant for a private firm assisting public housing agencies.

My wife Kelly and I met in high school and have known each other for twenty years. She has taught me invaluable lessons about pursuing my passions and living them in every thing I do. Our shared desire to live in an idyllic town led us back to the mountains of North Carolina where we attended Appalachian State University. Our two children, Bella and Michael, are the embodiment of our lives together providing me with a foundation from which to work. Hailing from Chicago there is a Midwesterner’s strong work ethic coursing through my veins. My appreciation for the varied architecture in Asheville as well as my desire to work with people has led me to the field of real estate.

I believe the Buyer’s Agent represents perfection in an often flawed profession. The ability to give 100% of your time, energy and dedication to each and every buyer is the hallmark of what the Real Estate Industry as a whole should strive to achieve. The Buyer’s Agent was developed out of a deep concern to represent those who were under represented and it is this commitment to integrity in the buyer/broker relationship that I subscribe.

In addition to my work life, I immerse myself wholly in these mountains cycling the Blue Ridge Parkway and surrounding areas, exploring running trails for marathon competition, writing contemporary fiction stories, cooking and entertaining friends and family. I feel blessed to be a part of the Asheville community and look forward to sharing that blessing with new and old faces alike in the years to come.

Tom's expertise of the different areas of Asheville was essential in finding a house that was perfect for my family.  My husband and I trusted Tom's professionalism through the process of house buying.  He was very knowledgeable of the area and was able to work hard for us as our agent.  We bought a beautiful home, for a lower price than the asking price, and Tom handled many of the remaining details.  The seller contacted Tom an inordinate number of times, but his patience and professionalism in dealing with the seller's persistent inquiries made the transition to our new house go smoothly.  As acquaintances/friends think of moving to the area, I immediately give them Tom Haskin's name as a person who will work hard for them to find their new home.
